Who We Serve

KAAF serves students across Southwest Atlanta whose futures are at risk, not because of anything they lack in ability, but because of barriers no child should have to carry alone. A missed meal. No ride to the help waiting for them. No one with the time to catch them up after a hard week.

These are bright, capable young people in Adamsville, Collier Heights, Cascade, Sylvan Hills, Ben Hill, and the neighborhoods around them. They want to show up, keep up, and move forward. What stands in their way is rarely effort and almost never potential. It is cost, distance, and circumstance, and those are exactly the barriers we exist to remove.

We serve the whole student, and the family standing behind them, because a child does best when the household around them has support too. And we are growing, steadily and deliberately, to reach more of the students across our community who still need us.

Our Approach

We meet students where they are and deliver help that is direct and personal. No layers of red tape between a young person and the support they need, just real help that reaches them in time to matter.

Direct and Practical

We put resources straight into the hands of students and families, quickly and without judgment. When a barrier appears, our job is to remove it fast, before a missed meal becomes a missed week and a hard stretch becomes a lasting setback.

Relationship Centered

Mentorship and trust are at the heart of our work. Students grow when they are seen, known, and believed in by someone who keeps showing up, and that steady relationship is often what carries a young person through the hardest weeks.

Dignity First

Every family is treated with respect and confidentiality. Asking for help is never something to be ashamed of, and no one who comes to us will ever be made to feel it is. We serve neighbors as neighbors.
